Blood pools under the visible legs. A flash of light [possible kido use]. Sounds of metal on metal. A squeal of pain. Rhythmic drumming increases in frequency. [Visual source darkens for sixteen seconds.] Muffled sounds [unidentifiable]. Voices [unclear]. [Visual source lights up.] A man [subject (a)] in shihakusho walks into view, talking [speech unclear]. A dark object in the foreground is positively identified as a Shinigami corpse. Due to poor focus of visual source (a) is unidentifiable. Closer, a woman in shihakusho carrying a zanpakuto with a petal-shaped guard [positively identified as Fujita Hitomi, unseated member of twelfth squad and Ariwa‘s team mate] stands defensively facing subject (a). Voice (Fujita): I don’t. I can’t. Voice (a): You must. I outrank you. Voice (Fujita): Of course I can’t. What you’ve done is wrong. It’s evil! Voice (a): Have I ever lied to you, Hitomi-chan? Voice (Fujita): No. But… Voice (a): No buts. I‘m being honest. You know I am. Muffled sound [a sob?]. Voice (Fujita, emotional): Why? Why’d you kill them? Voice (a): You should ask Etsuko. Voice (Fujita, raised in anger): Bastard! Blurring, the two black-clad figures move out of visual range. [Visual source attempts to follow. Picture sways violently, accompanied by increased rapidity of what is now identified as a heartbeat. Visual source lifts.] A blur in the background begins to focus. A large object moves closer. [Visual source darkens for five seconds.] [Visual source lights up.] Voice (out of visual range, identified as Fujita): Bastard! Laughter [source unidentified, presumably belonging to subect (a)]. Odd, roaring sound. A scream, lingering, cuts off abruptly after a loud thud near the visual source. Picture shifts, showing a still-burning corpse and subject (a) standing over it. Voice (subject a): (Softly spoken, Words unclear). Voice (visual source, weak): Hitomi… [Visual source darkens for one minute, nineteen seconds.] Muffled sounds of activity, footsteps and an odd, slithering noise. [Visual source lights up, lifts to see two beings.] Subject (a) is now positively identified as Deguchi Daiki, nineteenth seated officer of twelfth squad. He is a tall, grim-faced man carrying a flaming zanpakuto in the form of an axe. Beside him is a Hollow [unidentified], long, serpentine, with a heavily armoured head and six arms, four of which end in three-metre-long scythes. Voices: (Words unclear.) Voice (Hollow, deep and sincere): (Words unclear)-well indeed. I am pleased. Voice (Deguchi): I live to serve you, lord. Voice (Hollow): Look. He wakes. Deguchi and the Hollow turn to look at the visual source. Voice (visual source): (Muffled sound of choking.) Where is Hitomi? Voice (Deguchi): Dead. Like the others. Voice (Hollow): But not you. You are strong, it seems. Voice (Deguchi): He always was. He’d have made a seated rank easily given a little time. Voice (Hollow): Such a shame. Voice (Deguchi): Do not worry, lord, you have me. [Visual source lights up as the Hollow kills Deguchi, then darkens for twelve seconds.] [Visual source lights up.] The Hollow is directly in front of Ariwa, very close. Rows of needle-sharp teeth can be seen in the Hollow’s cavernous mouth. The suggestion of a scythe-arm can be identified in the lower-left of visual range. Voice (Hollow): I am the Puppet Master. Scream (identified as Ariwa). [Visual source cuts out.]
